The Oxiperm® Pro system is a highly efficient and cost-effective solution, ideal for combating bacteria, pathogenic microorganisms, and Legionnaires' disease (Legionella pneumophila) in building installations. It is also suitable for disinfecting water cooling systems, drinking water treatment, and various industrial processes.

A Modern Alternative to Conventional Chlorination

  • Chlorine Dioxide (ClO₂) is highly effective in eliminating a wide range of microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses, spores, and Legionella. It operates efficiently at lower concentrations and is effective across a broad pH range. In contrast, chlorine has limited efficacy at higher pH levels and may be less effective against certain microorganisms and biofilms.
  • ClO₂ penetrates biofilms inside pipelines (even in dead-end sections) more effectively than chlorine.
  • It does not affect the taste or odor of water. Furthermore, ClO₂ is generated on-site and on-demand, is less volatile, and more stable than chlorine gas, making it safer for use in facilities with human presence.
  • ClO₂ produces significantly fewer harmful by-products compared to chlorine, such as trihalomethanes (THMs) and haloacetic acids (HAAs), which are known for their carcinogenic properties.
  • It offers strong disinfectant action, making it suitable for applications that require high levels of disinfection. In such cases, a conventional system may not be appropriate due to the need for strict control of by-product formation.
  • ClO₂ also provides extended residual activity, ensuring lasting protection within the distribution network.

Short-Term Cost, Long-Term Value

  • The Oxiperm® Pro System may have a higher initial installation cost, but the overall operating cost can be competitive or even lower due to reduced maintenance needs and high efficiency compared to a conventional disinfection system.
  • The Oxiperm® Pro system leads to reduced consumption of chemical consumables and contributes to lower operational costs. Indicatively, it can produce 1 g of ClO₂ at a consumable chemical cost of less than €0.02.
  • Finally, another advantage of the Oxiperm® Pro system, compared to a simple off-the-shelf chemical solution, is its compact design, which ensures high operational reliability, low maintenance costs, and installation in confined spaces.

APPLICATIONS

The Oxiperm® Pro system is widely used in areas such as drinking water disinfection, as well as in hotel and residential water systems. It is also applied in the food and beverage industry for disinfecting process water, in cooling and air conditioning systems for the disinfection of cooling and HVAC units, and finally, in industrial process water disinfection to prevent microbial growth and to protect installations from corrosion and scaling.
